Father Hennepin State Park

This white doe has two fawns, one white and one brown.  It was really hard to photograph them, because as soon as we would spot one they were gone.  It was so much fun to watch them.  What beautiful animals!

We did get some rain on our trip, but the rainbow made up for it.

We did a lot of bike riding and walking and the trails there were wonderful.

The sky was filled with so many colors.  Sometimes we don't take the moment to enjoy them.  To see my photos of the park in the Fall click here.

Father Hennepin State Park

My girlfriends and I went to northern Minnesota to Father Hennepin State Park. You can check out there website here.

The colors were amazing and we were freezing. It had snowed the night before.

This park in located on the southeast shore of Mille Lacs Lake. It was named after Father Louis Hennepin, a priest who visited the area with a French expedition in 1680. The park was named after him because he was the first to write extensively about the Mille Lacs area. He called the area Louisiana, in honor of France's King Louis XIV. In 1683, the French published his writings in a book, Description of Louisiana.

Games Lake - MN County Park #7

I took these photos on Sunday at the MN County Park # 7 on Games Lake. My husband and I took the weekend off from our remodeling project. We had a great time with our friends. Rita, the caretaker of the park, still had wonderful color in her shade garden. I just love the wind chime she had hanging from the store.

Crystal Springs Ranch Rodeo

The pond I told you about is in the bottom corner. The little boy figuring fishing was not on the dock this year, but the dock and a canoe were still there.
