I need a little sunshine!

I have been hoping for some sunny days to take some better photos... but  I am still hoping. Here is a photo of a blue jays, and a white-breasted nuthatch.

Sunshine

We had a beautiful day here yesterday.  The sun was shining and the temperature was 6 above but no wind. Today we are in another snow warning.  Hope all of you are staying safe and warm.

Appreciating what you have

When we moved into our house 16 years ago, there was a large basswood tree in our front yard, right in the middle of it. Why? There are so many beautiful trees, why would you plant a basswood in your front yard? 

Guess what? White-breasted Nuthatches love this kind of tree. I really enjoy watching them. They often turn sideways and upside down on vertical surfaces as they forage.

I still don't like this tree, but I now appreciate it for the birds it brings for me to enjoy.
