Flower Lamp

Garden art?
My friend, Judy, is downsizing her house.  She asked me if I would like this lamp.  I told her I would love to have it, if she didn’t care what I did with it.
I told her it would make good garden art.  She just laughed and said go for it.

I spray painted the base a fun garden green.

Then I turned the lamp shade the opposite way. I tried to plant a cute ivy geranium in it, but it was just too top heavy.  It kept tipping over.
I call it garden art.  It makes me smile.

I am joining What Ever Goes Wednesday at Someday Crafts for the first time.  Please check it out here.

Mini leaf birdbaths

My girlfriends and I made these cute mini leaf birdbaths when we were on our camping trip.
We did not have a place to bake them, so I purchased this air dry craft porcelain at Jo-Anns.
First, we molded them to the shape we wanted.
Next, we used a leaf imprint to get the impression of the leaf.
Then, we used a plastic knife to outline the imprint.
We finished by painting them with exterior paint.

This was such a fun project, and would be a great project for kids.

Today is Fertilizer Fridays/Flaunt your Flower. Thanks to Tootsie Time. You can check out the others here.

Making Dragonflies

My friend, Kathy, at http://glacialridgeknits.blogspot.com/ taught me how to make these cute dragonflies.

Some of my friends and I got together to make some more.  They are so much fun to make.

Primitive Apothecary Jars

These are a new addition to my sewing room.  Check out A Diamond in the Stuff for the wonderful directions to make these. I used old 2 quart Ball jars and a recycled post from my remodeling project. I have old wooden spools in one, buttons in another and ripped rag balls in the last one.  My friend, Rose, helped me make them look more antique by adding some brown paint over the white paint.  I just love them!  Thank you Courtney, for the great directions.

Scrap paper flower

My girlfriends and I made these cute flowers out of scrapbooking paper, thanks to the wonderful directions from "Mandi being Crafty".  Click here for the directions.

They really are fun to make!  We made the 3" balls with the 2 1/2" circle, and the 2" balls with 1 1/2" paper. Thanks Mandi for the great idea!

Being creative with help from my friends!

My friend, Rose, came up with these cute Easter card ideas.  They are so much fun to make.  The bunny card has thread whiskers, and the egg has rick rack.
My friend, Kathy, gave me some fabric sample books that I took apart to make this supper simple table runner and coasters for my coffee table.
My friend, Sue, gave me some flower fabric scraps that I used to make this table topper for my kitchen table.
