Cardinals

These are the first photos of the pair of cardinals that have come to my feeder. I hope to see more of them. I think this is my new favorite bird. I love the color. One thing I have read about cardinals is the average life span is 15 years. WOW! To learn more about cardinals click here.

Heated Birdbath

I had some great advice from a fellow blogger regarding how to keep my heated birdbath from freezing over. Please check out his blog here. I put my birdbath at an angle and that has worked so far for me, but our temperatures have been warmer. I received this birdbath from my husband for Christmas and it has been so much fun to watch the birds.

Dark-eyed Junco

My flower beds are under a quilt of snow, so I am learning about birds. I believe this is a male dark-eyed junco. Please correct me if I am wrong.

With this new interest of mine comes a few problems. 1st one is these beautiful birds are hard to photograph, because it is dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home. 2nd problem is these cold temps. I received a heated birdbath for Christmas and it has been freezing up solid.

I welcome all comments as I take on this journey of learning about birds. I am very excited to study about them.
