Sundogs

These three photos were taken on my way home from work yesterday. The first one was taken at 4:10 pm. The second one was taken about 1/2 way home around 4:25 pm. The last one was taken at my home around 4:35 pm. About 2 minutes later the sun was down.

The sky was on fire. This photo looks like there is a fire behind those trees, but it is the sun.

This is called sundogs or mock sun. The scientific name is parhelion - "beside the sun". To learn more about sundogs check out this website.

Today is Skywatch Friday. Please check out the others here.

Happy Birthday!

My sister-in-law and I made cookies on Thanksgiving Day. They were so much fun to make. It was my husband's birthday the next day so we decided to celebrate it a little early.

This was taken on his birthday. He loves to golf, and loves apple pie. It was a wonderful weekend. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Check out the other Mosaic Monday's. Thanks to Mary at Little Red House.

Lefse

My friends and I have a fantastic tradition of making lefse before Thanksgiving. This tradition started about 5 years ago. It is so much fun and the lefse is delicious!

And our tradition continues with a new baker. She has helped us before, but was even a bigger help this year.

Kids and flour. It can't get any better.

This is our wonderful crew of friends. Please check out the other Mosaic Monday's. Thanks to Mary at Little Red House.
