The Best Rhubarb Bars

Rhubarb Bars
9 x 13 pan
350 degrees

2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Butter
1/3 Cup Sugar
Mix and Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.

4 beaten eggs
6 Tablespoons flour
1 ¾ Cup sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
5 Cups chopped rhubarb
Mix. Pour on crust. Bake 40 to 45 minutes.

Cool

8 oz cream cheese
1/3 Cup sugar
2 Cups Cool Whip
½ teaspoon vanilla Cream together and put on top

There is a group of us neighbors and friends that get together a few times a month. We make crafts, bake, go out to eat, or watch movies. Mostly we just laugh.

As a joke one of the gals got us these lovely hair nets to were.

We each had our job and our station to work in. There were 6 of us. We made 3 pans of bars and split them in half so we each had 1/2 pan to take home.

When we were finished we each got a bag of rhubard to take home. I am planning on making another pan this weekend. They are soooo good!

Wild Ginger

I bought this plant at a local plant sale, and it has been a fun addition to my shade garden.

Wild Ginger’s flowers are located at the ground level to accommodate insects such as beetles that pollinate its flowers. The plant is only about 6” to 10”. It is native in Minnesota.

It has a single flower, brown to greenish red, tube-shaped, and it has 3 pointed lobes. Very small, about 1” to 2” long.

The flower is located between 2 leafstalks at ground level.

Each plant as a pair of heart shaped leaves. The leaves are about 3”-6” wide. The leaves are very soft and velvety due to dense hairs.

These plants can be found in deciduous woods in Minnesota. They are just a fun plant to have.

Easter Egg Tree

My girlfriends and I got together and for a joke we were going to make an Easter tree for a house warming gift. This gift is for a bachelor that volunteered to have Easter at his new house for the first time, and had very little decorations.

I had never blown out an egg before. That was disgusting!

We painted them with water color pencils then hot glued the ribbon. It was so much fun.

House Re-model

This is a quilt I made my friend for all her help painting.

kitchen is done. We had taken everything out and started from scratch. My husband and I did a lot of the work. We started in April and finished in November.

Pink Saturday

I am so happy to find these pink snapdragons still blooming. Snapdragons are hardy and can handle a heavy frost. We have had several heavy frosts.

Snapdragons are a particular favorite of children who like to pinch the tiny individual blossoms and make the "dragon mouth" open and close. Yes, I love to do this too.

The vertical flower spikes open from the bottom to the top. A single snapdragon plant may produce seven or eight blossom spikes in the course of a summer.

My husband, Pete, and I went shopping last night in St Cloud, MN. Stopped at Cash Wise Grocery store and saw this wonderful display of Pink.

Celosia

Celosia

They are sometimes called cockscombs or woolflowers.

Celosia- The name is from the Greek and translates to "burning," describing the look of celosias. It has a resemblance to licks of flames erupting from the stems.

Cockscombs- With its fanlike flowers, looks like rooster's red combs, hence the popular common name of cockscomb.

Woolflowers- For their brightly colored, woolly flower heads.

I picked these last night, before we had our hard frost. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 37 degrees.

I love this plant for dried arrangements. I removed all the leaves from the stem and hang them upside down in my garden shed. After they are dried, they last for at least 6 months without losing any of there color.

This is one of my favorite geranium. It has multi-double flowers, each one resembing a tiny rosebud. The flowers are mostly white with a pale green center and each petal has a pink edge - looks like a true Apple Blossom.
