Making Dragonflies

My friend, Kathy, at http://glacialridgeknits.blogspot.com/ taught me how to make these cute dragonflies.

 Some of my friends and I got together to make some more.  They are so much fun to make. 

Scrap paper flower

My girlfriends and I made these cute flowers out of scrapbooking paper, thanks to the wonderful directions from "Mandi being Crafty".  Click here for the directions.

They really are fun to make!  We made the 3" balls with the 2 1/2" circle, and the 2" balls with 1 1/2" paper. Thanks Mandi for the great idea!

Quilting Shop Hop-Bus Trip

Six friends and I, went on a quilt shop hop bus trip, Saturday, March 5th. We meet at 6:00 am for breakfest at my house.

First stop was "Quilting by the Hearth" in Lonsdale, MN.

They did a great demo for make flying geese.  Yes, I bought the ruler!

I'm not sure what Trudy has in that package.  I did see what she bought.

Next stop Quilter's Dream in Montgomery, MN. 

Last town was Mankato.  We went to two shops, Firefly Quilt Shop and River City Quilts.

Cement Garden Mushroom

We made them one evening and painted them another. 

My girlfriends husband made us this stand to put the bottles in so they were easy to paint.  We are going on a camping vacation in a week and are planning on making more.  They add so much to the garden!

First trip to the greenhouse this season.

First trip to the greenhouse. My girlfriend and I went to my favorite greenhouse, Thomsens Greenhouse in St. Joseph MN.  You can check out there website here.  We had so much fun.

You can see the car was loaded!

This is a scented geranium.  We didn't purchase it, but I might have to go back and buy one.  It smelled so good and the flower is gorgeous.

There grounds were amazing.  It was a bright sunny day, and the photos are not the best.  The weather here has been amazing. Beautiful sun filled days!

The Best Rhubarb Bars

Rhubarb Bars
9 x 13 pan
350 degrees

2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Butter
1/3 Cup Sugar
Mix and Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min.

4 beaten eggs
6 Tablespoons flour
1 ¾ Cup sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
5 Cups chopped rhubarb
Mix. Pour on crust. Bake 40 to 45 minutes.

Cool

8 oz cream cheese
1/3 Cup sugar
2 Cups Cool Whip
½ teaspoon vanilla Cream together and put on top

There is a group of us neighbors and friends that get together a few times a month. We make crafts, bake, go out to eat, or watch movies. Mostly we just laugh.

As a joke one of the gals got us these lovely hair nets to were.

We each had our job and our station to work in. There were 6 of us. We made 3 pans of bars and split them in half so we each had 1/2 pan to take home.

When we were finished we each got a bag of rhubard to take home. I am planning on making another pan this weekend. They are soooo good!

FT. Lake Johanna & Iverson Cabin

On Saturday my girlfriend and I went to a gardening class in Alexandria, MN. On the way there we stopped at this site. I have never stopped there before. It was early in the morning and a gorgeous day!

Do you see snow? Almost all of the snow is finally gone. Yeah!!!

We had to stop the car a few times along the way because there were deer crossing the highway.

We saw many herds of deer. I think this might be a deer trail on this photo?

I think the next time I am out that way, I will have to stop at Iverson's Cabin.

Easter Egg Tree

My girlfriends and I got together and for a joke we were going to make an Easter tree for a house warming gift. This gift is for a bachelor that volunteered to have Easter at his new house for the first time, and had very little decorations.

I had never blown out an egg before. That was disgusting!

We painted them with water color pencils then hot glued the ribbon. It was so much fun.

The tree really looked cute. I was so surprised! Please check out the other Pink Saturdays.
